Breaks

Each academic year the college schedules times for students to have a break from their classes. Below you will find information related to residential communities for each break.

During the 2026-2027 Academic Year there are 5 scheduled breaks for students not including the semester (Christmas) break. For emergency purposes we ask that you register that you will be on-campus during break by completing the Break Sign-Up form

Fall Break is October 2-6. Classes resume on October 7
Thanksgiving Break is November 25-29. Classes resume on November 30
Winter Break is February 12-16. Classes resume on February 17
Spring Break - March 12 - March 21. Classes resume on March 22
Easter Break - March 26-29. Classes resume on March 30

For Christmas/Semester break, housing closes on December 18 at 5pm and reopens on January 9, 2026 at 12noon. You will need to submit requests for Remain Late or Arrive Early in your Housing Portal if you would like to stay on-campus during this time. Information about this process will be communicated in November.

FALL BREAK听

Hope residential communities are open during fall break. For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completing the if you will be sleeping on campus during fall break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.

Phelps Dining will be open during fall break for limited hours. Visit the Dining Services website for updated hours and information.

THANKSGIVING BREAK

Hope residential communities are open during Thanksgiving break! For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completeing the if you will be sleeping on campus during Thanksgiving break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.

麻豆国产 meal plans will not be in effect during Thanksgiving break. Phelps Dining will close early for dinner on Tuesday, November 24. All dining will be closed November 25 through November 29 lunch. Phelps only will reopen Sunday, November 29 for dinner from 5-7pm. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements for food during this time.

SEMESTER (CHRISTMAS) BREAK

Hope residential communities close for semester (Christmas) break starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2026. All residents are expected to be out of their respective living unit by this time, unless they have received approval from Residence Life.

To request Late Stay permission, students will need to submit a Late Stay Request Form. This form can be found in the students under Early Arrival/Late Stay Request.

A late stay request is any time between Friday, December 18, and Sunday, December 31. All late stay requests must to be submitted by: Sunday, December 13, 2026 by 5 p.m.

An early arrival request is from Wednesday, January 1, through Monday, January 8, 2027. All early arrival requests must to be submitted by: Wednesday, December 23, 2026 by 5 p.m.

If your request is not submitted by this time, it could be denied or assigned a late fee of $50.
Requests will not be processed during the campus shutdown between Wednesday, December 24, 2026 and Sunday, January 3, 2027.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SUBMIT AN REMAIN LATE REQUEST

Log into your
Select "Early Arrival / Late Stay Request"
Select the correct term, either "Fall 2026" or "Spring 2027"
Complete all fields and click "Submit Request"

Your request will be reviewed and you will receive an decision email.

WINTER BREAK听

Hope residential communities are open during winter break. For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completing the if you will be sleeping on campus during winter break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.

Phelps Dining will be open during winter break for limited hours. Visit the Dining Services website for updated hours and information.

SPRING BREAK

Hope residential communities are open during Spring Break. For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completing the if you will be sleeping on campus during this break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.
